tuberculosis & respiratory disorder

Tuberculosis (TB) is a serious infectious disease primarily affecting the lungs, though it can impact other parts of the body as well. It is caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis and spreads through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Symptoms of TB may include a persistent cough, chest pain, coughing up blood, fever, night sweats, and weight loss. Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial to prevent the disease from spreading and causing complications. TB is treated with a combination of antibiotics taken over an extended period, typically six months or longer. Adherence to the treatment regimen is vital to cure the infection and prevent antibiotic resistance. TB is also considered a respiratory disorder due to its primary impact on the lungs, and it can lead to severe respiratory issues if left untreated. Efforts to control and eliminate TB include widespread screening, vaccination, and public health measures to reduce transmission and manage cases effectively.
